Lease Negotiations, Australian Financial Security Authority
|Client||Australian Financial Security Authority|
|Timeframe||2012 - 2013|
At the end of 2013, the Australian Financial Security Authority’s (AFSA) lease of its existing premises at AMA House Barton expired, with no options to extend. In mid-2012, AFSA commenced the process of planning its future Canberra accommodation requirement by undertaking an initial assessment of the market to determine available options. AFSA decided to undertake a formal approach to market for suitable accommodation.
In mid-2012, Xact was engaged by AFSA to provide professional property services advice to undertake the initial market assessment of available accommodation options. Xact’s role was subsequently extended to assist AFSA with the lease negotiation process as well as obtaining the necessary Commonwealth Government approvals.
AFSA entered into a new lease in the recently completed 4 National Circuit, Barton office building and commenced occupation of their new premises in late 2013 following completion of a project to design and construct a new purpose built fitout (see AFSA Canberra Office Fitout Project).
