The forecourt area adjacent to the main entry of the High Court of Australia had deteriorated to be in poor condition with structural deficiencies and safety issues.
The project involved the removal of all existing forecourt slabs which had settled substantially and been damaged by tree roots. The forecourt slab was replaced with a suspended slab with integral tree pits design, avoiding repetition of the previous problems. The surface of the new forecourt areas was finished with paving tiles which were selected to blend in with the remainder of the existing external areas.
