Affordable Housing Apartment Complex
|Client||CHC Affordable Housing|
|Timeframe||2011 - 2013|
|Role||Superintendent and Contracts Administrator|
CHC is a not-for-profit development company that delivers affordable properties, for both sale and rent, to the ACT community. The Eclipse development comprises 223 apartments and ground floor commercial space. Situated on Braybrooke Street in Bruce, Eclipse is one street back from the Australian Institute of Sport and Bruce Stadium, and within a kilometre of the University of Canberra, the Canberra Institute of Technology and Calvary Hospital. Units in the complex were offered by CHC on the National Rental Affordability Scheme as well as to the general market.
Eclipse proves that affordability can be achieved without compromising on quality, with all apartments containing stone bench tops, stainless steel appliances, reverse cycle air conditioning and quality fittings and fixtures. The development compares favourably with similar products on the residential housing market in Canberra.
The project was procured through a negotiated design and construct form of contract developed by CHC and was completed nearly four months ahead of program.
