Canberra College Cares (CC Cares) is a program that endeavours to provide a best practice model for pregnant and parenting students to access education in the ACT. The program was established in 2005 with a $100,000 grant and 10 students (plus children). Enrolments in 2015 were expected to be 170 students (plus children). CC Cares offers Year 12 certification, goal oriented learning packages, online learning, vocational education, employment skills training and other support programs within a mainstream ACT Government School.
This project involved the construction of a purpose built facility on vacant land at the existing Canberra College Phillip campus. Canberra College Cares is a world first for this type of facility.
